Lyrics

Tempestus:
(As I make my descent into the valley
Aching roots under my feet
I see throngs of dying faces
Amongst the trees
Wan and narrow
Broken and humbled
They've abandoned their homes

The land is scorched and barren
A bitter drought flowered only with death
My boots scrape on cracked and broken clay
My eyes well with tears
As dust permeates the air
It seems nothing will ever grow here again)

Amongst the ruined waste
There remained
A failing child
His hope gone with the rain
Praying to
A god that will deliver nothing
Stranded here
A family lost at home

The wanderer approaching
His eyes are hollow
A shadow of loss
Trailing at his feet
But still they feel
That compassion must guide them
A stranger made of death
They invite into their home

Rain must fall
The storm clouds within
You cannot defy
the rage building inside of you
A loss again
All the same
Yet worse than before
A black shroud falls
The storm will consume
Erasing all
Like that which created you
And though you exist
to manifest strife
In your wake of death...
Life

The kindness that they gave
He repaid
A bond was forged
born out of despair
But as the light gave way
Eyes empty as the grave
Unleashing rage
Tempestus tore the sky!

Rain must fall
The storm clouds within
You cannot defy
the rage building inside of you
A loss again
All the same
Yet worse than before
A black shroud falls
The storm will consume
Erasing all
Like that which created you
And though you exist
to manifest strife
In your wake of death...
Life

At last the thunder fades
Nothing remains
The family and child
All washed away
His tears they fall
Each drop into the flood
Once again
A drowned Love

Rain must fall
The storm clouds within
You cannot defy
the rage building inside of you
A loss again
All the same
Yet worse than before
A black shroud falls
The storm will consume
Erasing all
Like that which created you
And though you exist
to manifest strife
In your wake of death...
Life

Tempestus:
(As I take my final step out of the valley
I cannot bear to see
the carnage I have caused
A loss floating among the detritus
Absolute destruction of that which showed me love
And born out of the same
And though life may blossom here again
It will be a joy I never witness)
